I will be on the road for the next couple weeks. I will update as much as I can.

It’s Monday morning, I’m tired. Crested Butte was a great weekend. The course was really fun for the first time in ages. It was almost completely new aside from some bottom stuff. It remained an incredibly physical track  though, which some people didn’t like. The mountain cross was really fun to watch. Rudy and I helped design the course and people seemed to enjoy it. I got a lot of good feedback. Just as I hoped, it dumped rain right before the pro men’s finals and it made for some entertaining racing. I think Petr Hanak took it in the end.

Downhill the next day went well for me. I managed to get fifth place. Fifth didn’t exactly satisfy my hunger from being off the bike for six months, but it was a solid result. I had an almost flawless race run and made no mistakes. Mitch Ropelato took the win and beat me by six seconds, he is a solid racer who knows how to ride a bike. I know I am starting to get to the proper fitness level after this because about 15 minutes after I finished my race run I felt like I could do it all over again.

Now I’m packing and getting ready to start the road trip to Whistler. I’ll keep you posted as much as I can. Big shout out to all the people the helped me get by this weekend: Scott Branney and the rest of the Branneys, Yeti Cycles, My pops, and Alex.

Hello everybody, it has been a while. I’ll try and catch everyone up as best I can to cover the last 6 months or so. To begin, in November I crashed riding downhill very hard on my right wrist. I broke my scafoid, dislocated my lunate and a whole bunch of other junk. I had to get emergency surgery as soon as it was diagnosed. In a period of a couple hours, my entire world turned upside down. I was off the bike from November to May, not riding at all. In May I started building a base and began riding cross country on my Yeti 575. Only a couple of weeks ago did I start riding downhill again. My first race of the season is coming this weekend in Crested Butte.

      On a lighter side, now that I am recovered and approved to ride, I am riding for Yeti Cycles out of Golden, Colorado. I ride a 303 R-DH for downhill and a 575 for cross country. I have trained hard all winter off the bike and with the support of Yeti and my solid foundation of physical fitness, I hope to do well this season.

    On Monday June 22nd, after the Wildflower Rush downhill race in Crested Butte, I will begin a three week long road trip. We will first be heading to attend a Fluidride Cup in Mt. Hood, Oregon, making a few stops along the way. After the race we will go ride bikes in Whistler, British Columbia for 9 days. Following that, we will head back down to Mt. Hood and race again and then head home. We are traveling by school bus across the country with 10 other people. This has been on my mind for a long time now and I am definitely looking forward to it.

During the three weeks, I will be able to update my blog very little or not at all. Feel free to email me to keep in touch and find out how things are going.

Wow, 2008 was an amazing year. I progressed so much as a rider and a racer, It couldn’t have gone much better. I completed my season goal last weekend by winning the Gravity Series Overall for the Mountain States Cup in Junior Expert. I also was in the top five places at 13 of the 16 events I competed in. I cannot thank you enough for all of your help this season whether it was helping me out with parts, giving advice, helping me fix my bike, or just cheering me on at races. Your help has gone so far this year and it has shown with my results. I have a lot of room for improvement and I look forward to strengthening my weak spots this winter. Now, I am going to focus on the upcoming school year and next summer, where I will be eligible to make the Junior World Championships team.Thanks for all your help, love, and support this year. Sorry everyone for the lack of updates. I’ve been really busy working and racing. Just to fill you in on some of the most recent results, I got second place in Jr. X 16-under out at Vermont for the Downhill. Then at state champs at Sol Vista I got 3rd in slalom and 5th in downhill. I just got done racing the Snowmass g3 race where I got 3rd place and good pal Sam Stevens took the win. School starts Monday and I’m not really looking forward to it, I have had such an awesome summer! The last Mountain States Cup race is coming up at Sol Vista labor day weekend. Hopefully I’ll take the Jr. X overall position for the series. I’m looking forward to a great last few races of the season and I have already started focusing on the 2009 season. I’m off to Vermont to race national champs at Mt. Snow. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time!

Just got back from racing the Wild Flower Rush MSC in Crested Butte, Colorado. It was a great time and I ended up in 2nd place, one second behind Mojo ripper Jordan Hill. It was the first race on my brand new Transition Blindside and I got to know it pretty well. Photos and more to come hopefully…
